Junior Academy
Requires: No previous experience and is suitable for young people aged 11 - 17
We strongly believe in enabling young people to learn these techniques from the start of their artistic journey. Many people find that the current National Curriculum lacks the opportunity to learn the practical techniques of how to draw and paint, especially in a realist and traditional style. In addition, one to one or small group tuition is not as readily available as it is in music and drama based subjects.
Our junior atelier students will study exactly the same curriculum as the adults, the teaching methods will be tailored for their age, but the techniques are the same. If they have the passion and focus to learn, then we are willing to teach them. We have accepted students as young as 10 years old due to their focus and capability.
Our programme can support young people through their GCSEs, A levels and portfolios for university applications.
Junior Student Comments
“I wish all my friends at school could have the support and tuition you have given me. The result was an ‘A’ in Art. Thank you!”
- Emma (student)
“I had never painted before, and in a matter of days of working with Martin, I was able to produce three paintings in exam conditions that gave me an 'A' in my GCSEs. Everyone thought it was a photo until they looked more closely.”
- Maya (student)
