Painting • Art School • Drawing & Oil Painting • Portraiture & Figurative • Painting Holidays
We offer two pathways within our oil painting curriculum. You can either study the traditional atelier pathway or our land, seas and skies pathway. It is also possible to study both programmes at the same time, or consecutively. Please note that if you wish to study them at the same time, this will require the minimum of two full days a week.
Both pathways teach students how colour works and the elements that make up colour. They also cover various brush techniques, introduced as required to reproduce out-of-focus, in-focus, blended, highlighted, diffused, lost and found edges amongst other effects used in oil painting.
Length of study:
These beginner/intermediate modules are designed to be studied flexibly. The average student attends one full day a week for up to three years. Following this, students can continue to master their skills through a series of their own personal studies, guided and critiqued by our tutors. Students book and pay their fees on a termly basis, each module is 10 classes and is completed within one term.
You will require the basic paint palette of colours and brushes. We have a small shop onsite and can provide you with everything you need for your courses. We only sell artist quality materials at discounted prices for your connivence. You will also need a canvas board for each study, these can be purchased onsite as you need them.
