This drawing course is focused on those artists looking to continue into Landscape painting.

  • The importance of learning how to see, to draw representationally and impressionistically

  • How to get proportional accuracy, shape, true values and mass

  • Complete a series of Barque drawing studies (2D study reference)

  • A simple introduction to The Golden Section and understanding the harmonics of composition

  • Seascape and landscape studies in charcoal

  • Complete simple Imprimatura paintings

Student Testimonials

I’ve just completed the drawing course, and the experience was superb. I had not touched charcoals for nearly 30 years, so the calm atmosphere, techniques and teaching pointers allowed me to re-discover my passion for art. I highly recommend this school.
— Gita Jackson
This course is a real opportunity to learn to draw. I now understand why an exceptional painting starts with being able to execute an exceptional drawing. Going back to basics and relearning this traditional way has transformed the quality of my artwork from amateur to professional. Fantastic tutors, enjoyable nurturing environment.
— Rachel Johnson
